Get back unclaimed shares and dividends
If dividends go unclaimed for 7 years, the company moves them and the shares to the government IEPF fund. You can claim them back yourself. You do not need to pay anyone a commission.
Steps
- Search your name on the IEPF website (iepf.gov.in) to find unclaimed amounts.
- Open a demat account in the holder's name if you do not have one.
- Ask the company for an entitlement letter using the letter below.
- File Form IEPF-5 online and note the request number.
- Send the signed form, entitlement letter, ID, address proof and bank proof to the company's nodal officer.
- For a deceased holder, add the death certificate and succession or nomination papers.
